Black women from the corporate world share their painful experiences with racism in the workplace, where they are sometimes told they are token hires.
“He just couldn’t comprehend that a Black woman would be in such a position,” Coleman said. “It’s hard because standing up for yourself in a moment like that makes you the angry Black woman. And anything you say can be used against you. So you do this little dance. These are the conversations Black women in the corporate world have every day.”
